Holiday Gift Guide: $50 & Under

I've put together a Holiday Gift Guide with items that are $50 or less. While this is a For Her gift guide, there are a few unisex gifts mixed in. Keep reading to find out all the details on the products above and to see additional picks, ideas, tips, and (of course) pictures.

 Beauty Products:

Bath & Body:
Everyone likes pampering products (even guys). Before buying, consider what products they'll be able to use (no tub = no bubble bath). Also take into consideration there skin type, and scent preferences.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream 1 oz  $12
This is typically a splurge because it is pricy (for the size), it's a rich cream that doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. Dry hands don't stand a chance against it. Checkout my eBay for my L'Occitane listings with free shipping.

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub  $7.49
The Tree Hut makes an amazing body scrub. The Brazilian Nut scent scrub is my favorite; it smells so warm and yummy. There are several different scents and that will be sure to suite anyone on your list. Make your own gift set by including a tub of the Shea Body Butter ($7.49) in the same scent.

Bath & Body Works Kiss, Sparkle & Scent Gift Set in Warm Vanilla Sugar  $24 $15.50
This affordable gift set includes body wash, lotion, a candle, lip gloss, and has cute packaging. Bath & Body Works has lots of pre-made gift sets to fit most budgets, but it's also easy to create your own by picking specific items including products for guys.

If you're looking for great deals, sign up for emails at Bath & Body Works and The Body Shop. Both companies send out emails with information on sales, promotions, and coupons.

Fragrance:
Travalo Travel Perfume Atomizer  $9.99
Perfume can be a very personal decision. It's tricky to buy for someone else. A travel perfume atomizer gives fragrance lovers the option to turn any perfume into a travel version. This is great for someone that travels or that likes to carry perfume in their purse, gym bag, or car.

Makeup & Brushes:
During the holiday season, there are lots of new palettes and gift sets. With a little planning, it's possible to get a really great deal. Visit Ulta, Sephora, Kohl's, and your local drugstore's website for details on their sales, promotions, and coupons.

It may be challenging, but you can stick to a budget (I believe in you!). I usually talks in terms of how much I saved, rather thank how much I spent. Just do what I say (and not as I do) and keep track of you're actually spending instead of how much you may save. That being said... here are some great deals!

Tarte Gorgeous Getaways Portable Palette Set  $48
This palette is an Ulta exclusive with 4 full size (yes, full size) Amazonian Clay Blushes, 16 full sized Eye Shadows, 3 full sized Lip Glosses, and a portable compact. Plus, for a limited time, you can get a deluxe Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder as a free gift with any $25 Tarte purchase.

Tarte blushes retail for $26, so... you can do the math and figure out this is a great deal (if it's in your budget). I ordered mine over the weekend, so it's safe for me to talk about it now- haha!

**When ordering from Ulta use:**
code 109793 for $3.5 off $10+ purchase

Lorac Pro Palette  $42
This is a beautiful palette with 16 eye shadows, half matte and half shimmery. This also comes with a mini eye primer.

Benefit Little Love Potions set  $36
For the girl that wants a little bit of this and a little bit of that-- This set includes 10 mini items of some of the brands most popular products. Sample sets like this are a great way to introduce someone to a new brand or product.

Real Techniques Core Collection Set  $17.99
This is a set of four face brushes that would be great for anyone that wears makeup. The

Real Techniques Starter Set  $17.99
This set of 5 eye brushes would be perfect for anyone looking to expand their brush collection or have multiple brushes to work with (between cleaning).

Accessories & Handbags:

Buying clothes for someone on your list can be tricky. Even if you know their size and style it's hard to tell if it really will fit and if it doesn't they'll need to return or exchange it. I recommend opting for 'one size fits all' accessories like scarves, jewelry, handbags, or wallets.

The Jewelry Lover:
Crystal Flora Bib Necklace and Jewelry Tree

Jewelry can fit any budget or DIY skill level. Check out this DIY Bow Bracelet

BaubleBar Crystal Flora Bib  $46
As a jewelry lover, I like this large statement necklace from BaubleBar. This online jewelry store has lots of different styles of jewelry and offers free shipping. Even if you don't buy from the site, its a good place to get ideas about what's on trend. Check out my BaubleBar Haul for a review and my Jewelry Wishlist for more ideas.

Urban Outfitter Little Birch Jewelry Tree  $32
Anyone who owns jewelry could use a jewelry organizer. Jewelry trees are great because they're functional and decorative. My own jewelry tree (from Urban Outfitters) was given to me as a gift and I love it.

Purses & Wallets:
If you'd like to buy a brand name item, but a designer bag is out of budget, consider a wallet or wristlet. These smaller items may allow you to give a name brand gift without breaking the bank.

Fossil Giftable Zip Clutch in Colorful Stripes  $50
This wallet is full price and still manages to fit the $50 or Less price point.

If you're looking for a deal (aren't we all) check out discount stores like Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Max for a discount on name brand items. Look through department store ads (or check their website) to find out when they're running a sale on items current this season. I sometimes find the same item in discount stores for less in major department stores.

If you want you're dollar to go far... don't forget about eBay. I'm an eBay seller, but I'm also a buyer (see my listings here). The best tip I can give for someone shopping on eBay is to look at the pictures and read the listing. If you have any questions, ask the seller before bidding or purchasing. They will be happy to help you and you can then buy confidently and know exactly what to expect.

Techie:
Casetagram Phone Case Chevron Pattern  $39.95
If you're not familiar with Castagram, you should be (haha). The site allows you to create personalized phone cases with pictures from Instagram, Facebook, and your computer. The site also offers gift cards, so you can gift the whole experience of customizing a case. This would make a great one of a kind gift for iPhone and Android phone users.

Anker Astro Mini Portable Phone Charger  $19.99
A portable phone charger is a great gift idea for anyone that complains about battery life or is always forgetting to charge their phone. This charger is a #1 seller on Amazon. It's roughly the size of a tube of lipstick so this little powerhouse will charge up a phone without being inconveniently bulky or heavy. The Astro Mini is currently available in Pink or Blue and it comes with a USB/Micro USB cable and carrying pouch.

Target Xhilaration Tech Touch Gloves (set of 3) in Aqua and Black  $7.19
Obviously not everyone would make use out of this, but it's a great gift for someone who lives in a cold climate and has a smart phone. This three pack of gloves comes in fun colors and allows for backups when a pair (inevitability) gets dirty.

Kitchen:

Cooking:
If you have someone that loves cooking or baking, buy them items that will feed their passion. Go for cookbooks, new utensils, fun mixing bowls... you get the idea.

Anthropologie Scarlet Apron  $32
Anthropology has some really cute aprons right now. I love this red one with all of the scalped layered detailing.

Anthropologie Polka Pleats Apron  $32
The black and white polka dot apron looks more like a dress than an apron and is very feminine.

Teapot and Cups:
Give gift basket of tea, coffee, or cocoa. Include items to make the beverage of choice like nice teas and local honey, coffee beans and homemade chocolate covered spoons for stirring, or cocoa powder and homemade chocolate covered marshmallows. Wrap up some freshly baked holiday cookies and complete the package with a new mug and you got yourself a gift!

There are tons of darling teapots out there, but I narrowed it down to my top three picks.

Target Elephant Teapot  $15.49
This is adorable. You could leave it white or paint it with specialty paint from your local craft store.

Fab Matroyshka Tea For Two Nesting Tea Set  $46
How fun! This nesting teapot includes two teacups. If you sign up for Fab using this link (http://fab.com/t7ppk5) you can get $25 off a purchase of $75+.

West Elm Owl Teapot  $23
This cute teapot matches owl teacups ($11) and mugs ($8) also sold at West Elm. Items are sold individually so you can pick and chose exactly what you want.

C.Wonder Polka Dot Latte Mug  $12
This is just adorable, it also comes in an orange and red polka dot mug.

Target Threshold Monogram Mug  $6.98
Personalized mugs are great for anyone- not just coffee or tea drinkers. I actually use mine as a makeup brush holder.

Reading and Writing:

Books:
 Penguin Classics

With so many book choice, it can seem a little overwhelming trying to pick a new book for yourself, not to mention someone else. Find out what genre or author the person on your list is into or share with them some of your favorites that you think they will like too. Browse through non fiction or topics they love such as photography, fashion, or even makeup. If you're still stumped, pick up a classic for the sentimental one on your list.

Puffin Classics  $25 or less each
Puffin Classics are great because they are beloved books from childhood with beautiful, decorative covers. I own The Secret Garden, which was a childhood favorite of mine, but they also have other titles including The Wizard of OZPeter Pan, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, A Little Princess, and The Adventures Of Robin Hood.

Journals:
A nice journal and new pens would make a nice gift for the writer or reflector on your list. Check out discount stores like Marshalls and TJ Max for beautiful journals and stationary.

Q & A A Day 5 Year Journal  $16.99
This is a daily journal that asks the same questions each year. It's a clever idea that can show how much or little one may change over a relatively short period in ones life.

Home:

Throw Blanket
Target Threshold Fuzzy Throw  $14.99
Who doesn't love a warm, soft, cozy throw? This throw from Target comes in several colors, but the white one reminds me of a polar bear... so that's the one I suggest. :)

Lastly, for you bargain hunters and online shoppers-
  • Check Retailmenot.com before you complete an order. Check for any coupon/discount codes or free shipping codes.
  • Sign up for store emails with the stores you shop at regularly or plan to do holiday shopping, most stores send out coupons or let you know about great sales.
  • Shop with a list and a budget.

Hope this was helpful, but now I want to know....

    1. It's so cute. I didn't buy it when I saw it in stores. Then I went back and it wasn't there! So apparently others thought it was cute too.
