Bath & Body Works Semi Annual Sale Haul

I can't seem to stay out of Bath & Body Works! If you saw my last B&BW haul you know that I was sucked in by their $8 candle promotion in December. This time I knew, before the emails came rolling in, that I'd be going back for their Semi Annual Sale. This sale is a great time to stock up on some of your favorite items, including scents they no longer carry in the store.

When I walked into the store I had a list of things that I wanted to look for. I knew I wanted to pick up hand soaps, candles, and maybe some body wash. I was shopping with a coupon, that was emailed to me, for $10 off a purchase of $40 or more. I would have never guessed reaching $40 at B&BW would be so hard!

My store only had a few dozen 3-wick candles left on the shelves and they weren't in scents I was interested in. If I was able to find some candles, I would have reached the $40 easily as they are on sale for $10 each. However, I ended up sticking primarily to hand soaps that were on sale for $3 each.

I love B&BW soaps. I know I can buy soap for less money elsewhere, but this is something that I see the value in splurging on. I use it many times, every single day, so spending a little more on soap that smells great and doesn't dry out my hands is worth it to me. I treat myself to something that last longer than say, oh I don't know, a cup of coffee- which I don't drink.

During my first visit, I picked up three different scents of hand soap. I like the deep cleansing hand soap (the kind with the beads in it) which actually exfoliates the skin. There's bamboo extract in it that helps clean while also leaving the hands feeling soft. It also has additional moisturizing extracts that give a double dose of softness. Finally, it lathers nicely and smells nice too.

Bath and Body Works Cinnamon Heaven Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

The first of the three scents I picked up was Cinnamon Heaven and it smells incredible! It's described as a spicy blend of cinnamon stick, Tahitian vanilla and star anise, but I think it smells a bit like the gooey part of a cinnamon roll, very warm and yummy. It smells so good that it makes me want to chug the bottle of soap.

Bath & Body Works Papaya Melon Scoop Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

The next scent I decided on was Papaya Melon Scoop. This is described as iced papaya, melon ball, and juicy watermelon. It smells fruity, sweet, with a little tang. I think I'll use this one in the guest bath because it's one that my mom will enjoy.

Bath and Body Works Rainkissed Leaves Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

Lastly, I went for Rainkissed Leaves. It's described as lush green leaves, crisp watercress, and delicate petals refreshed by summer rain. It's a scent that I think guys might like, or at least wouldn't be opposed to, as it's a fresh scent that isn't overly feminine. I'll be using this in my bathroom because it won't compete with my perfumes.

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Tini Shower Gel

I found a body wash on sale for $3, called Vanilla Tini. I had never seen/smelled this scent before, but I was sold instantly. A little fact about me: I love vanilla scents. LOVE them! I know I've mentioned this before in my November Favorites, but I love vanilla so much, it bares repeating. This scent is described as a flirty cocktail of fresh vanilla, creamy coconut, and lemon zest. Oh, did I also mention that I like the smell of coconut... a lot? This body wash hit one out of the park by combining two of my favorites. It's a unique vanilla scent because it's more fun, maybe that's the zest doing its part. The coconut is very detectable while the vanilla is a bit more subtitle.
Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena Wallflowers Refills

I also purchased several Wallflower refill 2-packs in the scent, Coconut Lime Verbena. I'm a big fan of this scent too. I think it's a great fragrance to have in the home all year, particularly the spring and summer months.

Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena 3-Wick Candle

I really wanted to stock up on the Coconut Lime Verbena candles, but they didn't have any at my store. I called another store nearby, but they were also out. I checked with the store close by my mom, in Pennsylvania (1,000 miles away) and it turns out they had them. My mom was kind enough to pick them up and she'll deliver them to me when she returns to Florida later this month. She also had a coupon for $10 off $40 or more so I was able to get 4 of the large 3-wick candles for $30. Not bad.

I like to buy in twos when it comes to soap so I have a back up ready and waiting. Somehow, I had picked up only one of the Cinnamon Heaven soaps. Believe it or not, I thought I'd be safe heading back into the store; I don't know who I thought I was kidding thinking I was going to walk out with just one soap. In all fairness, when I got there, they had a different selection than the day before. I didn't smell any other soaps while searching for Cinnamon Heaven; I was on a mission, after all.

Bath and Body Works Fresh Picked Tangerines Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Bath and Body Works Fresh Market Apple Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

My plan was derailed when I found Fresh Picked Tangerines, my mom's new favorite soap scent. In my extended search for the second Fresh Picked Tangerine and Cinnamon Heaven, I ended up finding Fresh Market Apples, a favorite scent of mine for the kitchen. Then I saw the decorative metal sleeves for the soap containers and remembered that my grandma wanted one of those for her soap container. They were on sale for $3 each, so I treated us both to one for our kitchens.

Just in case you are wondering, I ended up finding seconds for all three, Cinnamon Heaven, Fresh Picked Tangerines, and Fresh Market Apples. Score! Now, let's see if I can keep from going back before the sale is up! I think I'm set on everything, especially soap and candles!

Have you shopped the Semi-Annual Sale? If so, what did you pick up? If you haven't shopped the sale yet, you still have time; the Semi-Annual Sale runs until January 13th. If you plan on shopping online, use the coupon code BBWSALE10 for $10 off a purchase of $40 or more.

  1. That Vanilla Tini sounds AMAZING. I want one! I've never seen it either. I would have snatched it up also, as, like you, I love vanilla and coconut scents. See my comment on "December Favorites" regarding my most recent trip to B&BW... gaaaa! haha.

    1. They didn't have any of the VanillaTini left when I went back in the next day. I haven't used it yet as I forgot to take it out of the bag with all the soaps so it's in the linen closet in the guest bath. I have thought about it every day, but not until I'm already in the shower. Hopefully I will remember before my shower tomorrow to get it.

I did see your comment about your recent B&BW excursion and I just replied to it. Hopefully you will have better experience on your return trip.
